From the South:
Take I-95 towards Fredericksburg, Virginia and get off at the VA-606 Exit 118 (Thornburg exit). Make left at top of ramp (Route 606-West). 

Keep straight at the first stop light (Route 1) and keep straight at the second stop light (Route 606 turns into Route 208-West (Courthouse Road) at this point. Keep following signs for 208-West and/or Lake Anna State Park. There will be a point (at Post Oak Farm) where you will make a left but there will be a sign for 208 West. You will have the right of way here and the others will have the stop sign. Just so you will know that you are on the right track. (16.1 miles)

Make a right onto Route 601 (Lawyers Road). Just a little before you make this right you will see a BP station on the right; then a Shell station on the left, Lake Country Power and Sport and Long & Foster Realty on the right There will also be a brown sign for Lake Anna State Park to turn right here as well. (2.1 miles)

Make a left onto Haleys Mill Road. When you see a little store (Park Place) on the right, you will make the second left – sign may be missing hopefull route number will be there and it’s Route 643. Should you get to the state park entrance, you have gone too far and need to turn around. Haleys Mill Road will be the first right on the way back. (1.3 miles) We are on the left -- 5937. You will see an old chimney in the front.

It will take you about 25-30 minutes to get to the house once you get to Thornburg.

From the North:
